Barry Bonds blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches
defeated the SSB SSB Tar Heels 13 to 7 at the ballpark.
Bonds had a big day at the plate. He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger (his 22nd of the season) in
the 5th inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Santa Fe had
a total of 14 hits for the game.
Chris Carpenter(10-4) was the winner allowing 7 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Javier Vazquez(4-3) absorbed the loss. By surrending 9 runs in 4 and 2/3
innings his ERA jumped from 5.13 to 5.64.
'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Bonds said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
